The Real Reason Why I Joined Real Broker LLC
The Real Reason Why I Joined Real Broker LLC Before I share why I joined Real Broker LLC, let me tell you about the journey that brought me here. It took me nearly 40 years to get to this point. My experiences in real estate have taught me lessons that can help others make better decisions for their future. Over the last 20 years, the world has changed so much, and the next 20 years will bring even more changes. With the rise of technology like artificial intelligence, everything will move faster. It would help if you were ready. After graduating from Oklahoma City University, I started my career at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Oklahoma. But I soon realized it wasn't the right fit for me. In 1985, I took a leap of faith and entered the world of real estate. It was a decision that changed my life forever. I began my real estate journey at a small, independent company owned by Lanny Gardner, who became my mentor and close friend. Lanny had decades of experience, and his advice helped me get started. After a year, I moved to Merrill Lynch Realty, where my career began to grow. My parents also had a significant influence on my life. My father's business sense and my mother's leadership as a writer and author taught me the values of hard work, leadership, and helping others—values I carry with me to this day. I've been lucky to have amazing mentors throughout my career. One of them was Mo Anderson, who I met at 24 while working for Merrill Lynch Realty. Watching her success taught me the power of resilience even through tough times. In the early 90s, Mo invited me to join Keller Williams. While I considered it, I chose to stay at RE/MAX, where I spent 18 successful years. During my time with RE/MAX, I grew personally and professionally. The company grew from 17,000 agents when I joined to over 120,000 by the time I left. I learned how traditional real estate and franchise models operate inside and out. However, while RE/MAX was growing in numbers, there were no personal benefits for agents who helped develop the company by recommending it to others. The business model didn't provide any compensation for agents—just the old-fashioned pat on the shoulder. I wanted to help grow the company because I loved and respected the local owner-broker. Even today, I'm still friends with her and hold her in high regard. With God's grace, I could keep relationships with the broker-owners and leaders of the companies I worked with, both during my time there and afterward. Even today, these relationships remain strong. They were instrumental in my personal growth, especially after the loss of my parents. I believe God places people in your life to guide you on your journey. Being in real estate full-time isn't just a career—it's a way of life. How you manage your profession alongside your personal life is crucial for your family. Every business decision must align with your personal and family goals, requiring regular reevaluation to ensure balance and purpose. Later, I joined Keller Williams, learning about their profit-sharing system and taking on leadership roles like serving on the Agent Leadership Council. I attended events like Family Reunion and Mega Camp, which deepened my knowledge and built lifelong connections. I also invested in courses and coaching to sharpen my skills. Switching from a traditional model to a virtual brokerage wasn't easy—it took me over 18 months of deep consideration. I explored nearly 400 YouTube videos, spoke with countless agents, and researched virtual companies like eXp, LPT, and Compass. At one point, I even considered starting my boutique real estate firm. After carefully evaluating the costs, benefits, and opportunities, I chose Real Broker LLC. This decision wasn't just about business—it was about stepping out of my comfort zone for my family and the future agents I mentor. In 2020, COVID-19, the loss of my mother, and a significant surgery forced me to reevaluate everything. Recovering from surgery and navigating this career shift required two years of determination and growth. I aim to help other agents shorten their decision-making process by sharing my four decades of experience with traditional and virtual models. While I firmly believe Real Broker is the future, I also know it's not for everyone—every agent has a home that fits them best. What sets Real Broker apart is the ability to share the same benefits I enjoy with others, without strings attached, in a transparent, publicly traded company that continues to innovate. Breaking out of the comfort zone isn't easy, but it's often the key to securing a better future for yourself and your family. Real Broker LLC offers agents multiple ways to build wealth, including: 1. Commission Income: Keep 85% of commissions and 100% after a $12,000 cap. 2. Revenue Share: Earn up to five tiers from the agents you sponsor and their sponsored agents. 3. Stock Awards for Capping: Receive stock for reaching your cap and fostering ownership. 4. Stock Awards for Agent Attraction: Earn stock by helping grow the Real family. 5. Stock Purchase Program: Invest in Real Broker stock at a discount from your commissions. 6. Elite Agent Stock Awards: High-performing agents earn additional stock awards. 7. Referral Fees: Expand your business by referring clients within the network. 8. Mentorship Opportunities: Support new agents and earn while building a knowledgeable community. 9. Ancillary Services Partnerships: Generate income through partnerships with service providers like title and mortgage companies. 10. Co-Sponsored Revenue Share: Collaborate with other agents to share revenue from recruits. 11. Genuine Wallet: A financial platform offering faster access to earnings, a unified income overview, and tools like business checking accounts or credit lines, empowering agents with financial control and flexibility. Real Broker LLC isn't just a brokerage—it's a platform for people to make a real impact, where agents are equipped to grow their businesses, foster meaningful connections, and leave a lasting imprint on the real estate industry. Great Real Broker agents aren't just selling homes—they're shaping lives, families, and futures. Real Broker LLC has allowed me to break through traditional real estate limitations, expand my global footprint, and help others build wealth through multiple income streams. I want to help real estate agents across North America and beyond thrive in this new way of doing business. Real Broker lets agents grow their businesses, connect with others, and leave a lasting mark on the industry. My mission is to share what I've learned over decades in real estate and life. A Culinary Journey Through Southern India in Edmond
Exploring Desi Corners: A Taste of Southern India in Edmond Today is a beautiful fall Friday—perfect weather to explore something new. While driving along Broadway in Edmond, I stumbled upon a new Indian restaurant called Desi Corners, located at 1012 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. The building, a thoughtfully converted Wendy’s, immediately caught my attention. The parking lot was buzzing with activity, and inside, I noticed a lively crowd of Indian diners, many of them students—a great sign when seeking authentic cuisine! I was curious to try it, so I ordered a Southern Indian meal: chicken curry and chapati. While I typically skip rice, I indulged in two chapatis, and they didn’t disappoint. The meal was satisfying, delicious, fresh, soft, and perfectly paired with the flavorful curry. I’d rate the experience a solid 7 out of 10—though nothing can rival my mom’s cooking! What truly stood out was the cultural connection I felt while dining. Watching Indian students eat with their hands—a traditional and cherished practice in India—brought back memories of my childhood and teenage years. Food has an incredible way of taking us back to places we’ve been and people we’ve loved, reminding us of the richness of our roots. Desi Corners didn’t just serve great food; it created a space where culture, memories, and flavors converged. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and filled with natural light, creating a bright and pleasant environment. The friendly staff and quick service made the experience even better. As someone in real estate, I couldn’t help but appreciate the charm of the freestanding building—it felt inviting and thoughtfully designed for the dining experience. Desi Corners is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is perfect for lunch or dinner. While Edmond doesn’t have the same large Indian communities as cities like Dallas, this restaurant brings a much-needed taste of India to the area. If you’re reading this blog and wondering about Indian food, I recommend checking out Desi Corners. Go alone, take your family, or invite your significant other for a flavorful culinary adventure. Food isn’t just about taste; it’s about experience. Sometimes, trying a new cuisine in a different setting can trigger emotions, spark memories, and even bring a sense of alertness to life. Indian food, with its rich spices and diverse flavors, reflects culture, tradition, and history. But this isn’t just about Indian food but about embracing life’s experiences. You are a spiritual being living in a human body, and exploring new things is essential while you’re here on Earth. Don’t let life pass you by without stepping outside your comfort zone. Whether trying Indian cuisine, making that one call you’ve been meaning to, scheduling that extra appointment, or meeting someone for coffee and a good old-fashioned conversation, life is full of opportunities to grow, connect, and awaken to the world's richness.
